Why was this site created?

The answer is fairly simple. It is extremely annoying to open up your email or go  to your favourite news group and find that 19 of the 20 new messages there
are spam. Some jerk telling you that you can make forty billion dollars if you
send him $5.00 and a self addressed stamped envelope or informing you that
their XXX site is up and running, and the girls/guys are "HOT! HOT! HOT!".
(Whoopee, get off my news group!)

Fortunately, there are ways of dealing with this type of cyber garbage. This site
was created for the news group  alt.cuddle.rebels , but anyone is welcome to take
the course.

What is CRSFB?

CRSFB stands for Cuddle Rebels Spam Fighting Brigade. This is a newly
forming group of spam fighters in the group. This is mostly behind the scenes
work. When a spam message comes through, we jump in and have their
accounts for breakfast.

Who is involved?

All members of alt.cuddle.rebels who help to fight the spam are involved.
Working together against this, we *can* make a drastic difference in the
amount of spam that gets sent through cyber space.

Why?

Why fight it? Because spam is disruptive to news groups, and it's incredibly
annoying in email. Not to mention illegal. And most of all, if we don't take a
stand against it, why should we expect anyone else to?
